On Tuesday 16th of April the group visited Elephant and Castle Bowling Centre for an off site activity.
The group were split into 2 teams and the game was overseen by our group volunteer, Clifton.
Everyone enjoyed themselves and the game was played in a good natured, competitive spirit. The young people tucked into some food and drinks during an interval in the game.
After the game had finished, some of the young people took the opportunity to play some of the arcade games in the centre.
Now that the weather is picking up and Summer appears to be getting closer, we hope to utilise the green spaces of South London next week by having an evening in Brockwell Park having a picnic and playing games.

Easter "Rathbone" Style!!
Tonight was our last youth club evening before the Easter half term break.
We decided to embrace Easter and indulged in preparing, making and most enjoyably.............eating giant chocolate Easter nests.
Everybody joined in and enjoyed themselves. It was a very easy thing to make. We melted chocolate, poured it over cornflakes and mixed everything until the cornflakes were covered in all the chocolate.

We poured the mixture into 2 round tins and attempted to make something that looked like a nest!!
We added mini eggs to the cakes and put them in the fridge to set for half an hour.
As it was our last night before half term, we used the evening as a general youth club evening and used the IT facilities, Art materials and pool and football table As well as operating our tuck shop.
Some young people took the opportunity to relax and watch some of the group make a bit of a mess with the cake making!!
On behalf of everyone at Rathbone, we would like to wish everybody a very happy Easter and we will back in 2 weeks time!
Happy Easter!

4 young people took part and their was plenty moral support and healthy competitive banter amongst the group.

The competiton was played in a fair and fun way by all. The final was a closely fought battle with the ultimate prize of a KitKat at stake!!
Next week we shall be embracing all things Easter related!!

Alford House Trip 12.3.2013
Hello again
This evening at club we were meant to be visiting one of our local mainstream Youth Clubs.
Unfortunately we were unable to do this due to a member of staff needing emergency dental help.....OUCH!
The group decided that instead of going to Alford House, that they would do a tuck shop run.
With staff and volunteers on on hand, the group split into two small groups, one consisting of those that wish to stay in the warm and those that wanted some adventure.
Whilst the group galavanted around Tescos's the remaining group carried on with some arts and crafts.
A few members carried on there research work from last week.
When the second group returned from Tesco, you could feel the excitment levels rising.
With members in charge of tuck this evening, They decided to decanter all tuck items into relevant boxes with prices attached and then continue to run the tuck shop, taking members money and giving them their change.
With tuck shop re-stocked and open the queues were winding round the hall! : )
We will rearrange our Alford House trip for another week.
Tucks Away! : )

Youth Club 26/2/2013
Tonight was another action packed night at the Rathbone Youth Club.
With staff setting up activities and our volunteer Clifton setting up computers , we were ready for the night ahead.
The evenings main goal was to get some ideas from our members about the kind of activities and trips that they were interested in trying in addition to our usual activities.
We had allsorts of ideas, from a trip to Barcelona, Southend, go karting and cycling.
These are just a few tiny suggestions out of the thousands that were put forward.
Each member was then asked to research 5 facts about the activity they suggested to give them more knowledge about their chosen activity and also to help with their web surfing skills.
Next week is a trip to Alford House in Kennington.
Catch you all next week!
